Make N Take with Amy Tan

OMG!  Awesome!

I've been scrapping for what seems like a looong time, and of course in that time I've developed more than a few scrap idol crushes.

Amy Tan (of Amy Tangerine fame) is definitely one of them - I love her use of colour and her unique line drawings and designs. I also love the fact that her scrapping lines are neutral - ie, you can use them to scrap ANY occasion or any type of page. That totally speaks to me - I am an everyday scrapper. I don't have children so most of my pages are on my crazy everyday life. I very rarely scrap babies, or Christmas, or Easter, so scrap products that are 'general' are like gold to me!

Two Sundays ago, I headed on down to the local Spotlight store where Amy was doing a meet and greet, one of many stops on a promotional tour through Australia and New Zealand.

For some crazy reason, I was the only one there (see my post on my blog) hanging around like a crazy stalker. This meant more awesome Amy time for me and also led to my husband being taught how to use punches and other scrapping tools by Amy.

I got to chat to Amy about Dizzy Izzy and our retreats, and she was so lovely to talk to me about how she started scrapping and how the collaboration with American Crafts came about. She chatted about her work/life balance, and encouraged me to do more blogging - even just a photo with a few lines of text can just get you into the habit. She reads ALL of the comments on her blog and let me know how grateful she is to all of her supporters, so if you stop by her blog for some inspiration, be sure to leave a comment or two!

I was lucky to be given a signed American Crafts/Amy Tangerine apron (which made an appearance at our Crafternoon) and Amy also gave me a Make N Take Kit which we will be giving away to a lucky scrapper at our November Retreat.

The Make N Take Kit!
Dizzy Izzy will have the NEW Amy Tangerine line READY SET GO at the November Retreat. Full of bright fun colours and a gorgeous little elephant (we scrap our memories, and an elephant NEVER forgets - how cute!) I know you will love the line as much as I do!

Happy Scrapping!
